Umahi emphasized the road’s critical importance to Nigeria’s infrastructure and connectivity in the northern region. He reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment under President Bola Tinubu’s administration to accelerate the project and meet the newly established timeline.

The project, previously delayed due to disputes with the former contractor, has been restructured into three segments to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Palliative measures, including addressing potholes on the Abuja-Kaduna stretch, are underway as the contract is re-awarded.

Umahi assured the public of zero tolerance for delays, stating, “This road will stand as a legacy for the next 50 to 100 years.” He highlighted the addition of 15 kilometers of road extensions to enhance connectivity at both ends.

Commitment to Timely Completion
Minister Umahi, joined by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammad Idris, and National Assembly representatives, emphasized the government’s dedication to ending the suffering of road users and ensuring Nigeria’s infrastructure aligns with global standards.

The project is part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at revitalizing key national assets and boosting economic activities through improved transportation networks.
