A 99-year-old woman from Etitinabu Na Ndagbo in Afaraukwu, Abia State, has made a heartfelt appeal to the Federal Government to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. According to Ireporter Online, Mrs. Sarah Nwanyisunday Oparaocha spoke on Saturday at her residence in Afaraukwu, Kanu’s hometown, expressing her deep desire to see him while she is still alive.

Speaking in Igbo interspersed with proverbs, Mrs. Oparaocha said it was her ultimate wish to witness Kanu’s return home. “I am now 99 years old and will soon be 100, but I weep every morning during my prayers because of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” she said. “I am pleading with the Nigerian government to release him so I can see him before God calls me. Nobody knows when God will call, but I will be happy if I see Kanu before that time.”

Her appeal coincided with a reported meeting by members of the Afaraukwu community, who gathered to demand the release of their son. In addition to her call for Kanu’s freedom, Mrs. Oparaocha advised young people to embrace healthy living as a path to longevity, encouraging the consumption of natural, native foods while cautioning against unhealthy diets that could harm the body.
