I Raised N13m, I Owe Nobody Any Apology” — Blessing CEO Fires Back Over Cancer Controversy

Controversial relationship expert Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has defended her widely debated breast cancer disclosure, maintaining that she has no reason to apologise amid ongoing public criticism.

According to Ireporter Online, Okoro made the remarks during a recent interview with social media influencer Egungun of Lagos, where she refuted claims that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer and addressed concerns surrounding her earlier statements. She clarified that the total amount she received from public donations was N13 million, dismissing widespread reports that suggested she raised up to N100 million.

Responding to calls for an apology from those who felt misled, Okoro questioned the basis for such demands, insisting she had caused no harm. She explained that the confusion surrounding the stage of her condition may have stemmed from a misunderstanding of medical information provided to her, noting that she is not a medical professional.

The media personality further disclosed that she has yet to receive a confirmed staging of her condition, stating that although she has undergone several tests, she is awaiting a final evaluation from her oncologist in the coming days. She added that she has not commenced chemotherapy, revealing that her most recent procedure was a biopsy as she continues to explore treatment options.

Okoro recounted that the health concern began with a lump discovered last year, which was initially deemed non-cancerous before subsequent tests indicated malignancy. Addressing public pressure to release her medical records, she firmly declined, describing such documents as private.

She also reiterated that the reported N100 million fundraising figure was inaccurate, stressing that she never reached that amount. On the possibility of undergoing a mastectomy, Okoro expressed hope that it would not become necessary but acknowledged that survival remains her priority.

Despite the controversy, she used the opportunity to advocate for increased awareness of breast cancer, encouraging women to carry out regular self-examinations. Her comments come amid sustained public scrutiny following her initial announcement, which drew sympathy and financial support before triggering debates over transparency and credibility.
