According to Ireporter Online, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has alleged that the recent Federal High Court judgment in Abuja ordering the deregistration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties was not independently written by the court, but allegedly prepared by the Office of the Attorney General before being delivered by the judiciary.

The ruling, delivered by Justice Peter Odo Lifu, directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the ADC, Accord Party, and several other political platforms from participating in the 2027 general elections.

Reacting to the development, Frank claimed in a statement that the judgment appeared to have been pre-written and merely read out in court, insisting that affected parties were not given prior notice or proper procedural engagement. He further alleged that the entire process was orchestrated in a way that excluded the knowledge of legal representatives involved in the case.

He also accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and political actors aligned with him of attempting to weaken opposition structures in the country, warning that such actions could destabilize Nigeria’s democratic system and potentially trigger a national crisis.

Frank called on the international community, including former United States President Donald Trump, to intervene and help safeguard Nigeria’s multiparty democracy, stressing that silence over the matter could have long-term consequences for the nation’s political stability.

He urged Nigerians and democracy advocates to resist any perceived moves aimed at dismantling opposition parties, warning that the erosion of democratic competition could endanger the country’s hard-won democratic gains.
