JUNE 12: Moses Omo-Ikirodah Salutes Nigerians On Democracy Day, Urges PDP Leadership To Present Wike As Atiku’s Running Mate

Engr Moses Omo-Ikirodah, the INEC-certified PDP House of Representatives candidate for Etsako Federal Constituency, has praised Nigerians “for their resilience and commitment to the democratic process.”

Moses Omo-Ikirodah made the remark in a statement issued on the occasion of the country’s democracy day in Abuja on Sunday morning.

Moses Omo-Ikirodah urged Nigerians to continue to fight corruption, nefarious activities, terrorism, money laundering, and oppressive government policies, as these are the symbols of the June 12 struggle, in which Nigerians took to the streets 23 years to vote in what is widely regarded as the freest and fairest election in the country’s history.

The Edo State politician and business entrepreneur stated that this year’s Democracy Day is significant since it falls on the eve of the 2023 general elections, in which Nigerians are hoping for improved changes in the country’s leadership.

He used the opportunity to urge the PDP leadership, particularly the party’s flagbearer, HE Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to choose the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as his running mate if the party is serious about winning the general elections.

Only Nyesom Wike, he claims, meets the prerequisite requirements to be the PDP’s appropriate vice presidential candidate, claiming that he is the party’s popular choice across the federation.

Moses Omo-Ikirodah also urged Nigerians, who are known throughout the world for being a vibrant, diligent, and hardworking people, to strive at all times to maintain the country’s good image.

In 2018, Buhari designated June 12 as the new Nigerian Democracy Day, replacing May 29.
