JUST IN: Buhari Makes Re-appointments (DETAILS)

President Muhammadu Buhari urged the Senate on Tuesday to confirm Edward Lametek Adamu’s nomination for re-appointment as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria for a second and final term.

He also asked the upper chamber to confirm Mrs. Aisha Ndanusa Ahmad’s nomination for re-appointment as CBN’s Deputy Governor for the second and final time.

During plenary, Senate President Ahmad Lawan read Buhari’s letter of request.

According to the letter, the President stated that the request was made in accordance with Section 8(1)(2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) (Establishment) Act 2007.

The letter reads in part: “In accordance with the provisions of section 8(1) and (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) (Establishment) Act 2007, I have the pleasure to forward herewith names of Mrs Aishah Ndanusa Ahmad and Edward Lametek Adamu for confirmation by the Senate as Deputies Governor for the Central Bank of Nigeria for the second and final term.”
