Just In: Delta Assembly Shall-Continue To Ensure Good Governance – Speaker Vows

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, has reiterated the resolve of the state legislature to partner with other arms of government in ensuring good governance, peace, and prosperity in the state.

Guwor made this commitment in Asaba while hosting Justice O.A. Ogunbowale, the presiding judge of the Asaba branch of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, who paid a courtesy visit to the state assembly.

Accompanied by some principal officers of the House, Guwor emphasized that the improved and sustainable welfare of Deltans remains a top priority for the state assembly.

The Speaker highlighted that the cooperative relationship among the three arms of government in Delta State is crucial to the state’s peace, robust infrastructural development, and socio-economic growth and stability.

He assured that the 8th Assembly under his leadership would continue to strengthen its collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure the overall prosperity of the state. Guwor also noted that Delta State is favored by God, citing an existing law that designates May 29 as a day of Thanksgiving to acknowledge God’s blessings.

“Delta is one of the states we can boldly say that God loves so very much. That is indeed the reason we are succeeding here in Delta. The state remains on a path of growth, prosperity, and sustainable growth. Asaba is peaceful; the entire state is peaceful. We at the 8th Delta State House of Assembly shall continue to legislate for peace and good governance in the state and ensure that the state is very habitable for Deltans and visitors to the State,” he said.

In her remarks, Justice Ogunbowale explained that the purpose of her visit was to familiarize herself with the office. She urged the members to remain focused on achieving further progress in the state and acknowledged the friendly atmosphere in Asaba, calling for its sustenance to encourage greater peace and development.
