JUST IN: NNPP Speaks On Kwankwaso Stepping Down For Atiku

The New Nigeria Peoples Party has stated that its presidential candidate, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, will not step down for his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Atiku Abubakar.

In an interview with The Punch, the NNPP’s spokesman, Major Agbo, refuted a report that northern leaders were pressuring Kwankwaso to step down for Atiku.

In response to the report, Agbo asked, “How can anyone come out and say Kwankwaso should step down for Atiku?” No, Atiku should step down.”

According to Agbo, Kwankwaso is in the race to win, stressing that he will emerge the next president of the country.

However, the NNPP spokesperson did not rule out the possibility of alliance talks, which he stated would take place on its terms.
