Kaduna Village Bombing: Ribadu, Northern Senators Pass Vote Of Confidence On Security Agencies

The National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, along with senators from northern Nigeria, has expressed a vote of confidence in the country’s security agencies, notwithstanding the accidental military drone strike in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Despite the unfortunate outcome of the recent military mishap, where 85 individuals were confirmed dead and numerous others injured, Ribadu and the lawmakers are applauding the dedication of security agencies in addressing the security challenges in the region.

During his visit to Tudun Biri village for a fact-finding mission, the NSA commended the commitment of security agencies and assured that the bombing incident would not be overlooked.

He pledged that a comprehensive investigation would soon be initiated to prevent the recurrence of such an incident.

“We are here to physically see and also talk directly to the people, victims, and families and make an assessment for the Federal Government. It is a tragedy and misfortune. But it has happened. What matters is: how we move forward, what we going to learn from here, and what exactly we need to do,” Ribadu added.

He praised Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for his demonstration of maturity and leadership in handling the unfortunate incident, particularly in providing relief materials and other logistical support to the victims.

The northern senators, led by Senator Abdul Ningi, also paid a visit to Governor Sani to offer condolences regarding the bombing incident. Expressing sorrow over the event, the senators commended security agencies for their success in combating terrorism and banditry in the North West and North Central geopolitical zones.

While urging Nigerians to set aside emotions and sentiments, the senators appealed for a thorough government investigation into the incident to prevent future occurrences. Governor Sani, expressing confidence in the pursuit of justice for the victims of the military airstrike, called on the National Assembly to review outdated laws that could enhance the effectiveness of security agencies in fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities.

Former Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi, and former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai, also visited Tudun Biri village to express condolences to the community for the unfortunate incident, engaging in a private visit with the affected residents.
