Kanu, expressing confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to create history, delivered this message while urging Jose Peseiro’s squad to secure victory against South Africa in Wednesday’s AFCON semi-final showdown.
In a video shared on his X account on Wednesday morning, the former Arsenal star voiced his support for the Nigerian team.
“The team has done us proud. We’re heading to the semi-finals. I’ve always said we’ll reach the finals and win this tournament. Let’s pray for them, support them, and wish them the best of luck,” Kanu stated.
“This cup belongs to us. It’s coming back home. Let’s go, Super Eagles. You have what it takes. There are only two matches left, and history is waiting to be made.”
Nigeria secured victory over Angola in the quarter-finals, while South Africa defeated Cape Verde.
