Keyamo Issues Warning To Unlicensed Private Jet Operators – ‘I’m Coming For You’ 

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has issued a stern warning to private jet operators conducting unauthorized commercial flights, labeling the practice as both a safety risk and economic sabotage. Highlighting the financial disparities between private and commercial aircraft operations licensing, Keyamo revealed that many operators falsely register their jets for private use to avoid the higher fees associated with commercial licenses, only to operate them commercially.

“These private jets are almost all operating commercially, resulting in a significant loss of revenue for the federal government because the license fees for private and commercial flights differ greatly,” Keyamo explained.

The minister underscored the dual risks posed by these illicit operations: compromised passenger safety due to lower regulatory standards and substantial revenue losses for the government.

Issuing a direct warning to those involved in these practices, Keyamo stated, “This is a notice to them on camera, I am coming for them because the president has given us a marching order, and we are not going to allow it.”

With plans to implement stringent enforcement actions, Keyamo pledged to apply the law indiscriminately, irrespective of personal connections to high-profile individuals, including friends of the president.
