King Of Pepper Dem Gang: How EJ Agbonayinma’s Tactics Turned The PDP Into A Complete Mess
A few years ago, the music industry was buzzing with Zlatan Ibile’s hit song “Bolanle.” The catchy chorus, “Pepper them Bolanle, pepper them oh, Pepper them Bolanle, pepper them oh,” is the inspiration behind this article.
It’s almost like how Bolanle gave her ex-boyfriend a taste of his own medicine for his bad behavior. That’s exactly what Hon. EJ Agbonayinma did to the PDP and Governor Obaseki during the last Edo election campaign. It felt as though EJ was on a mission to turn things into a nightmare for Obaseki and his chosen candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
If I were to sum up how Hon. EJ handled the PDP, Obaseki, and Ighodalo, I’d borrow Apostle Suleman’s words: “You’re a bad boy.” In this case, Hon. EJ Agbonayinma really was the “bad boy” to the PDP.
EJ, a key leader in the APC, became a relentless force against the opposition during the election, using his extensive media expertise to deliver blow after blow to the PDP. His constant presence on national TV, where he routinely exposed and debunked the PDP’s lies, gave them a heavy dose of what we call “WOTOWOTO” in local parlance. It’s clear now that they never fully recovered from his relentless jabs.
ARISE TV and Channels served as more than just his platform for promoting the APC; he also turned his media studio into a center of support for Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa. Hon. Agbonayinma, a former gubernatorial candidate, played a crucial role in advocating for the APC, and his outreach to communities throughout the state received widespread acclaim.
But what really stood out for us was his social media presence, which consistently exposed the lies of the PDP, Obaseki, and Ighodalo, making them uncomfortable. His posts were not only informative but also inspiring—sometimes humorous, sometimes direct. EJ’s efforts were truly remarkable.
In the end, Hon. EJ Agbonayinma’s approach during the Edo election campaign was a masterclass in political maneuvering. With his unique blend of media prowess and fearless attitude, he turned the tide in favor of the APC, leaving the PDP scrambling. EJ’s role wasn’t just about strategy; it was about delivering a bold, unrelenting message that resonated with the people and unsettled his opponents. As the dust settles, it’s clear that EJ wasn’t just a participant—he was a game-changer.
