Lagos Reacts To Graduate Internship Programme On Social Media
The Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has debunked a viral social media post about an ongoing graduate internship programme.
The director of public affairs, Babatunde Adele, said in a statement that the viral social media post imploring unemployed youths with NYSC certificates and LASRRA numbers to register for the ongoing internship programme did not originate from the ministry.
“Although the Ministry has been in charge of the Graduate Internship Programme over the years. It is, however, necessary to clarify that the commencement date for the 2023 edition of the programme is yet to be made public,” Adele said.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard the fake social media message on the Graduate Internship Programme in Lagos State and desist from re-sharing the same message on different social media platforms.”
Adele added that the ministry will make an official public announcement as soon as the 2023 edition of the programme is approved,
He noted that the ministry will make the announcements through the state government’s various official social media platforms and other communication channels.
Adele, however, urged the general public to always verify the sources of their information before circulating it on social media to avoid creating unnecessary panic among interested candidates as well as citizens.
