LP Lawmaker Tells Tinubu What To Do To Nnamdi Kanu

Ogah 1

Representative Amobi Ogah (LP-Abia) has earnestly implored President Bola Tinubu to consider releasing Nnamdi Kanu as a benevolent gesture to the people of the South Eastern region of Nigeria.

Ogah, who represents the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia in the House of Representatives, conveyed this plea through a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

He underscored that the prevailing insecurity in the South East is, in part, attributed to the prolonged detention of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. Ogah beseeched the president to release Kanu as an expression of goodwill towards the N’digbo community.

Ogah contended that the release of Kanu could potentially expose criminal syndicates that exploit his detention to conceal their acts of terrorism in the South East. While acknowledging the president’s considerable efforts, Ogah pointed out that the primary point of contention remains the allocation of only five ministerial positions to the entire South East.

He entreated the president to address this disparity and demonstrate his genuine concern for the N’digbo community by granting Kanu’s release. Ogah believed that such an action would contribute to mitigating the prevailing insecurity in the South East.

Addressing the issue of insecurity, Ogah expressed uncertainty about identifying the perpetrators responsible. IPOB and the Eastern Security Network have denied involvement, leaving confusion. However, a prevailing sentiment suggests that Kanu’s detention might be a contributing factor. Ogah thus humbly urged President Tinubu to offer Kanu’s release as a gift to assuage these concerns.
