Major Drug Bust: 56-Year-Old Nigerian National Nabbed With Narcotics Worth Over N400 Million In India

According to authorities, the arrest was made following a raid over the weekend based on credible intelligence. Anaemem, a resident of Arpora, was found in possession of narcotics with a street value of Rs. 74 lakhs in the international market.

The seized contraband included 480 grams of cocaine valued at Rs. 72 lakhs, 15 grams of Ecstasy powder worth Rs. 1.50 lakhs, and 250 grams of Charas estimated at Rs. 1.25 lakhs.

The Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) meticulously monitored Anaemem’s activities for nearly a week, employing a combination of human intelligence and technical surveillance, leading to his arrest and the confiscation of drugs, cash, and a two-wheeler scooter used in the illicit trade.

Authorities revealed that Anaemem had three cases registered against him in Goa, with pending trials before the respective courts. Notably, he was previously arrested in the infamous National Highway Blockade case in 2013 at “O” Coqueiro junction, Porvorim, and faced charges of overstaying without legal documents and assaulting a detention center employee in separate incidents.

Led by PSI Pravin Shimepurushkar and a team of dedicated officers, the raid was conducted under the supervision of DYSP ANC Shri Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC Shri Bossuet Silva. Investigation into the matter is ongoing under the guidance of PSI Priyanka Garodi of ANC PS.
