The Gunners are considering activating Osimhen’s £66 million release clause from Napoli, but they will need to negotiate with both Napoli and Galatasaray, where he is currently on loan.

While Manchester United initially seemed to be the frontrunners for the 25-year-old, with Spanish outlet Fichajes reporting that they have already engaged in talks with his representatives and are prepared to offer £63.3 million, they face competition from PSG and Juventus.

Arsenal’s interest has grown stronger after Saka was confirmed to be out for over two months after undergoing hamstring surgery. Manager Mikel Arteta acknowledged the significant gap left in his team by Saka’s absence.

“He has had a procedure and everything went well, but unfortunately he will be out for many, many weeks,” Arteta stated. “It will be more than two months. I don’t know exactly how much longer.”

In related news, Arsenal recently secured a 1-0 victory against Ipswich to close the gap on Liverpool, while Chelsea has reportedly ruled out a January move for Osimhen. Additionally, Arsenal is considering Chukwueze as a potential replacement for the injured Saka.

Osimhen has been exceptional since joining Galatasaray in September, netting 12 goals and providing five assists in 15 matches. However, he has reiterated his commitment to the Turkish club. “I will not leave in January; I am at Galatasaray until the end of the season,” he said after scoring twice in a 3-2 win over Tottenham. “Galatasaray is a nice club that I like very much.”

Despite his claims, former Galatasaray coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu believes the club is unlikely to finalize a permanent deal for the striker.

With Arsenal facing critical Premier League clashes against Brentford, Brighton, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Wolves in January, Arteta is eager to strengthen his attacking lineup. The club is also eyeing alternatives, including Barcelona’s Dani Olmo and Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.

Meanwhile, Manchester United remains focused on addressing their scoring woes, having managed just 21 goals in the Premier League this season, leaving them 14th in the table and teetering closer to the relegation zone than the top four.
