He also claimed that the Nigerian military was complicit in the operation.

In response, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, issued a statement categorically denying these allegations. He called the reports “fake” and “mischievous,” urging the public to disregard them. Maj. Gen. Buba reaffirmed that the Nigerian military remains dedicated to maintaining the country’s territorial integrity and will continue its duties with professionalism.

The DHQ further emphasized that such claims are the work of individuals seeking to spread false information and mislead the public.
