Momodu Breaks Silence On Jonathan’s Possible 2027 Run Against Atiku, Others

According to Ireporter Online, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has stated that a potential return of former President Goodluck Jonathan to Nigeria’s presidential race would add excitement and competitiveness to the 2027 general election.

Momodu, who spoke during an interview on Arise TV, noted that Jonathan, as a former leader of the country, still commands a strong political network and should not be underestimated in any electoral contest. He further commended the former president’s reported interest in a political comeback, describing it as a bold and courageous move more than a decade after leaving office in 2015.

He was quoted as saying that a former Nigerian president naturally retains influence and structures, adding that Jonathan’s possible return would make the race more engaging. Momodu also expressed openness on behalf of the ADC, stating that the party would be prepared to face Jonathan if he decides to contest.

The ADC chieftain also reiterated his support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, praising his resilience and long-standing presence in Nigerian politics. He described Atiku as a seasoned political figure whose consistency and experience position him as a unifying force in the country’s democratic space.

Momodu further argued that Atiku represents stability and bridge-building in national politics, expressing confidence in his capacity to lead if given the opportunity. He maintained that his support for Atiku is based on a long study of his political journey, describing him as a symbol of perseverance and democratic commitment.
