According to Ireporter Online, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its members and the general public to disregard a viral list of individuals purported to be the party’s approved candidates for Imo, Abia, and Anambra States, describing it as false and misleading.

The party clarified that the circulating document did not originate from its national leadership and should be completely disregarded. This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the National Secretary of the party, Barrister Ikenna Enekweizu.

He explained that the NDC has already duly submitted its authentic list of candidates who will represent the party in the upcoming elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

Enekweizu further alleged that the fake list was being spread by individuals he described as mischief makers seeking to cause division and confusion within the party. He added that the party was actively investigating the source of the misinformation, stressing that such actions were aimed at distracting the party’s focus and unity.

He reassured party members that the NDC remains committed to its internal processes and to presenting credible candidates capable of advancing its political objectives and national agenda.
