No Student’ll Graduate Without Having A Registered Company – Powerful VC Declares

According to Prof. Abdul Rasheed Na’Allah, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, it is now mandatory for every student of the institution to register a company as a requirement for graduation.

Speaking to journalists about his administration’s accomplishments over the past four years, Na’Allah highlighted the university’s efforts to transform the campus in terms of infrastructure, learning, and industry collaboration.

In partnership with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce, the university has improved its curriculum to teach students how to register their own companies, encouraging them to become self-employed rather than solely relying on government or established companies for jobs.

Na’Allah emphasized that the university has integrated the industry into its campus, with representatives regularly working with students to enhance their learning experiences. As a result of this initiative, more than 1000 students have already registered their companies with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and some of these students have even graduated or are in their third year, with opportunities to practice their registered companies.

The university’s philosophy is centered on empowering its students not just to seek employment but to become job creators and generate wealth. As a result, it is now a mandatory rule that no student can graduate from the University of Abuja without having a registered company with CAC. Furthermore, students are required to practice and run these companies for at least a year or two before their graduation.
