NOA Director Adaline Waye-Patari emphasized the importance of taxation in driving national development, but acknowledged that concerns over multiple taxation have necessitated these reforms. She explained that the proposed reforms aim to consolidate and simplify Nigeria’s tax framework, eliminate instances of multiple taxation, and ensure fairness in tax obligations.
Waye-Patari highlighted the key features of the proposed reforms, including the Nigeria Tax Bill, which outlines all major taxes imposed on individuals and companies, as well as the rates. She noted that the reforms aim to make tax payments easier, faster, and more accountable, with new digital systems being introduced to achieve this.
The rally is part of NOA’s ongoing efforts to raise public awareness about the Federal Government’s tax policy and its potential to foster sustainable development in Nigeria. Waye-Patari called on Nigerians to support the reforms, which are designed to ease the burden on hardworking citizens while ensuring everyone contributes fairly.
