“Nobody Can Break My Heart” – Dele Odule Speaks On Viral Heartbreak Rumour
Veteran Nollywood actor, Dele Odule, has dismissed reports suggesting that he recently suffered heartbreak from a romantic relationship with a young female student, describing the viral claim as a complete misinterpretation of his words.
According to Ireporter Online, the respected thespian clarified that a motivational message he shared was wrongly twisted by social media users into a sensational gossip story. Odule explained that what circulated online was never a confession of heartbreak but an inspirational post taken out of context.
He emphasized that no one can break his heart, though he admitted that anyone — whether a friend, family member, or even his child — could disappoint him.
“Nobody broke my heart; nobody can break my heart. I can only get disappointed. That disappointment can come from anyone, even my child. But heartbreak? No,” Odule asserted.
Reacting to rumors linking him to a 200-level student, the actor dismissed the speculation as laughable, noting that such claims were baseless. “My first daughter is a PhD holder and a lecturer; how can a 200-level student break my heart? That would be ridiculous,” he said, adding humorously that any such association would only be “a passing fancy.”
The veteran performer lamented the growing trend of social media users twisting innocent remarks for attention and financial gain. “People now use social media for clout and money, even at the expense of their integrity. At some point, I was accused of having 10 children with 10 women. I just laughed and agreed — after all, it’s not a crime in Nigeria. If it’s a sin, I’ll face it when I get to heaven,” he said wittily.
On his acting career, Odule maintained that he does not select roles based on preference but dedicates himself to delivering the best interpretation of any character assigned to him. “I don’t choose roles; they are chosen for me. My duty as an actor is to interpret whatever role I’m given. That’s the essence of acting,” he concluded.
