Obasanjo Arrives in Minna For Meeting With IBB, Abdulsalami, And Gusau

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo arrived in Minna, Niger State, on Sunday evening, heading to the hilltop residence of former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB).

As reported by Daily Trust, Obasanjo’s chartered flight touched down in Minna around 4:15 PM, following his trip to Benin City, where he attended the 90th birthday celebration of Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.

After landing, Obasanjo joined a gathering at Babangida’s residence, which included former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) and former National Security Adviser General Aliyu Gusau (rtd).

The purpose of the meeting remains unknown, but the high-profile gathering has sparked speculation regarding its significance in the current political climate.

A source revealed that the closed-door meeting lasted about an hour, after which Obasanjo left Minna around 6:20 PM. The source added, “The discussions may have touched on national issues, particularly the hardships Nigerians are facing, though no specifics have been confirmed.”

Obasanjo arrived with a delegation of 10 people and immediately proceeded to IBB’s residence. He departed Minna shortly after the meeting.
