An alleged list from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) claimed there was an updated list in the portal of the electoral body with all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Senate, House of Representatives, and the state House of Assembly being those in the camp of Governor Godwin Obaseki caused confusion on Tuesday in a number of areas of Edo state.

When contacted, Timidi Wariowei, Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Edo Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stated that they had not yet received any fresh candidate lists but would comply if they did.

He said, “People need to be cautious about many of these online publications going around. We are not concealing anything; there is no fresh INEC list as of today, and because the matter is still before the court, INEC will follow the ruling. Although as of right now, everything we have is what has been disclosed, we will abide by any court directives and carry out any other orders that may be given.
