Sifax and Royalgate Consortium secured the bid for PPL 300-DO, while Oceangate Engineering Oil and Gas Limited won the PPL 302-DO bid, becoming the sole bidders in their respective categories.

In the PPL 303-DO category, a tie was reported between MRS Oil and Gas Company Limited and NNPC Exploration and Production Limited, and a tie-breaking process is currently in progress in accordance with established bid rules.

Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Limited won the PPL 304-DO bid, surpassing Sifax and Royalgate Consortium. Meanwhile, Hamilcar Oil and Gas Consortium successfully bid for PPL 305-DO, defeating NNPC Exploration and Production Limited. BISWAL Oil and Gas Limited also triumphed in the PPL 306-DO category, outperforming NNPC Exploration and Production Limited.

During the 2024 Licensing Round Commercial Bid Conference in Lagos, NUPRC Chief Executive Gbenga Komolafe announced plans for a new oil licensing bid round in 2025. He stated that the commission aims to make oil licensing rounds an annual occurrence to boost oil production and maximize the exploration of Nigeria’s hydrocarbon resources.

Komolafe emphasized that the upcoming 2025 licensing round will concentrate on unexplored assets, indicating the government’s commitment to opening new avenues for investment in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. The ongoing 2024 licensing round is part of the commission’s broader strategy to attract increased investment into the upstream oil sector, enhance production capacity, and raise government revenue from oil resources.
