Ojelabi: Lagos APC Will Make Tinubu Proud
According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has pledged to make President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proud in the upcoming January 16, 2027, elections, Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi has said. Speaking at the inauguration of the state executive committee at the party secretariat in Ogba, Lagos, Ojelabi emphasized the need for unity and teamwork among party members to secure overwhelming votes.
He urged party faithful to “go out to deliver” and warned against complacency, stressing that achieving success in the 2027 elections would require cooperation, discipline, and dedication. The inauguration ceremony, administered by lawyer Mrs. Coker, was conducted by the Oyinlomo Danmole-led Congress Technical Committee, alongside Works Special Adviser Dr. Adekunle Olayinka and former Igbogbo-Bayeku chairman Sesan Daini.
Originally scheduled for Thursday, the event was postponed by a day to honor the late Assistant Publicity Secretary, Karamo Yesiro, who passed away shortly after his re-election.
Ojelabi highlighted the challenges ahead, urging the executive committee to learn from the 2023 elections and focus on improving the party’s performance. “We are coming on board at a critical period. How we change the narrative from 2023 should preoccupy our minds,” he said.
The chairman also called for unwavering support for the president, noting Tinubu’s contributions to governance, creation of additional local governments, and the development of Lagos State. He cautioned party officers against divisive tendencies and participation in caucus meetings, emphasizing their responsibility as symbols of the party.
To strengthen party operations, Ojelabi instructed officers to familiarize themselves with local government chairmen and their constituencies. He assured that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would continue to provide an enabling environment for the committee’s work. Copies of the party constitution will be distributed as working tools, and a four-day training program for local government officers has been planned to enhance their effectiveness.
