PDP Blasts Akume: ‘Stop Silencing Ambitions, Focus On Nigeria’s Suffering Masses

for asking northern political leaders to defer their 2027 presidential ambitions until after President Bola Tinubu’s potential second term in 2031.

Osadolor, speaking in an interview with Punch, described Akume’s remarks as an attempt to undermine other political ambitions for the benefit of the current administration. He accused Akume of being out of touch with the realities of ordinary Nigerians.

“Akume’s statement reflects the privileged life he has always led—first as a senator, then governor, and now SGF. He is one of those shielding President Tinubu from the suffering and struggles of everyday Nigerians. Living on taxpayers’ money, Akume seems unaware of the hardship people face daily,” Osadolor said.

The PDP chieftain emphasized that democracy guarantees the right to ambition and urged Nigerians to reject any attempt to stifle competition. He expressed hope that the 2027 elections would offer an opportunity to rescue and rebuild the nation.

“This democracy belongs to all Nigerians, and no one has the authority to silence another’s ambition. By 2027, Nigerians will reclaim their mandate to restore the country from years of mismanagement. We need leaders who will rebuild, revive, and save this nation,” Osadolor added.

He concluded by calling on all Nigerians, regardless of region, to support credible candidates capable of addressing the country’s challenges and uniting the people for a better future.
