Petrol Price Falls Again At NNPCL Stations
According to Ireporter Online, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again lowered the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at its retail outlets. Journalistic checks across Abuja on Monday morning revealed that the new price is now ₦815 per litre, down from ₦835 per litre.
The ₦20 reduction follows a previous cut of ₦80 on December 19, 2025, amid an ongoing price competition in the downstream oil sector triggered by Dangote Refinery’s lower gantry price. Several NNPCL stations across the Federal Capital Territory, including Wuse Zone 6, Wuse Zone 4, the Keffi–Abuja Road, and the Kubwa Expressway, have already implemented the new price.
An attendant at one of the outlets, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the adjusted price was applied on Sunday evening. Despite the reduction, the NNPCL price remains ₦79 higher than petrol sold at Dangote Refinery-backed MRS stations, which currently retail at ₦739 per litre nationwide following recent cuts.
Industry analysts note that these ongoing adjustments by major players in the sector continue to influence retail fuel prices across the country, with consumers watching closely for further changes at filling stations.
