In his post, Davido shared: “Once again, for my birthday this year, we’re donating to orphanages and a charity focused on helping young people stay away from drug abuse and addiction. This year it’s ₦300 million. More details to follow soon.”

Davido’s charitable efforts are managed through the Davido Adeleke Foundation (DAF), which he established in 2022 with a focus on supporting vulnerable children. Last year, the foundation donated over ₦200 million to orphanages across the country, benefiting 13,818 children.

In a statement from 2022, Davido expressed his commitment to continuing his philanthropic work: “I founded DAF with the passion to assist vulnerable children and create a lasting framework for charitable efforts in Nigeria. Through the foundation, we’ve raised millions of Naira to improve the lives of countless children across the country.”

Davido’s tradition of birthday giving began in 2021 when he posted his bank account details on social media, asking friends and fans to contribute to his birthday fund. He ended up raising ₦200 million, which he donated to orphanages.
