Pregnant Woman Dies Over Naira Scarcity

A heavily pregnant woman in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, lost her life due to the unavailability of the new naira notes in banks.

The deceased’s husband, James Auta, stated that his wife was rejected by the hospital because he was unable to make the payment due to a lack of cash in his bank and POS channels.

The incident occurred earlier this month, when Auta’s wife went into labor but was denied because her husband couldn’t make a payment due to naira scarcity.

The woman died at home after giving birth but continued to bleed, according to reports. The incident sparked concern throughout the state, as patients and their families struggled to pay for treatments due to the naira shortage.
