Renewed Hope In Motion: Minister Momoh Inspects Ongoing Road Projects In Etsako West And Owan East, Applauds Steady Progress(Video)

The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to balanced regional development under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following an inspection tour of key ongoing road projects in Edo State.

The Minister’s first stop was at the Iyerekhu–Ubiane Road (Section One) in Etsako West Local Government Area, a 7.336-kilometer stretch currently being executed by GMG Global Limited. The project, which is now in its advanced stage, has seen the completion of drainage systems and proper soil stabilization and base course preparation, with asphalt laying expected to commence soon.

Engr. Momoh expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, describing the road as a critical link that will connect multiple rural communities, boost trade and agriculture, and enhance ease of movement within the Etsako axis.

The inspection team also visited Owan East Local Government Area, where the Ministry is undertaking the construction of internal township roads in Ivbiaro, covering Egbuneke and Ebese villages. The projects, according to the Minister, reflect the Renewed Hope Administration’s focus on infrastructure-led growth and rural transformation.

“This isn’t just about building roads; it’s about opening doors of opportunity, connecting people, and restoring trust in governance,” Momoh stated.

He commended the contractors for adhering to technical standards and urged them to maintain momentum to ensure timely delivery.

Residents of the host communities expressed excitement over the projects, noting that the new roads would bring long-awaited relief, improve mobility, and attract new businesses to their localities.

The inspection marks another milestone in the Ministry of Regional Development’s ongoing drive to deliver sustainable infrastructure across Nigeria’s regions, reinforcing President Tinubu’s pledge to leave no community behind under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
