Reno Omokri Reveals Vow To Dismantle Obidient Movement Over Peter Obi Candidacy

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has stated that he made a vow to dismantle the Obidient movement, led by Peter Obi, due to his involvement in Obi’s candidacy. Omokri claimed responsibility for Obi’s selection as the vice-presidential candidate in the 2019 election, a claim that contrasts with Atiku Abubakar’s account of how Obi joined the ticket.

Omokri explained that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had recommended Obi for the vice-presidential position after suggesting other figures like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Chukwuma Soludo, who were not members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Consequently, Obi was chosen.

In an interview with News Central, Omokri also addressed the alleged attacks on his family by members of the Obidient movement. He said that the threats initially targeted him but soon escalated to his family, including multiple death threats. He described how the attackers tracked his movements and followed him and his wife during their jogs in the UK.

Omokri further explained that after Obi failed to respond to his complaints about the threats, he decided to use his political influence to undermine the Obidient movement.
