Sammie Okposo Didn’t Slump And Die – Project Manager Makes Fresh Revelation

Hillary Vincent, the project manager for popular gospel singer Sammie Okposo, has denied reports that the singer collapsed in his Lekki, Lagos, home on Friday, November 25, 2022. According to multiple media outlets, he was rushed to the hospital after allegedly slumping and was pronounced dead on arrival.

“It is not true that Sammie slumped and died,” Vincent said in an exclusive interview with Sunday Scoop. That report is incorrect. The family will clear the air when the time comes. But I can tell you unequivocally that he did not slump. He simply did not awaken from his sleep.

“As regards the funeral arrangements, the details will be made known by the family. But right now, they are still in grief and mourning the departed singer.

The singer was best known for songs like Welu Welu from his debut album, Unconditional Love.

Another popular song from the album No More Drama was “Na Only You.” Other gospel singers on the album included Kefee, Essence, Ige Samsong, and Soji Isreal.

Sing Hallelujah, another of his songs, was released in 2019, but it has continued to make waves, particularly in gospel circles.

Chukwu Ebube, a contemporary afrocentric worship album featuring Micheal Stuckey, was released in 2020.

He had planned to hold the Sammie Okposo Praise Party in Lagos on November 4, 2022, just before his death. He had posted a throwback video of the concert on his Instagram page the day before his death. He could be seen in the video leading the congregation in an intense praise and worship session.

Meanwhile, tributes to the singer continue to pour in. Richard Mofe-Damijo, a veteran actor, posted a video of the two of them together. He captioned the photo, “This was exactly a month ago in the United States.” We spent two weeks together as men, fellowshipping. I ate, drank, and teased you as is my wont. Toks or Jedi would drive you to me and we’d spend the day together.”
