In an interview on Monday, Senator Musa explained that the bill would improve the efficiency of revenue agencies. He also emphasized that once passed, the bill would ensure greater transparency in the use of citizens’ taxes.

Musa remarked, “The Tax Reform Bill is part of President Tinubu’s agenda to strengthen Nigeria’s economy. It’s essential because, based on my analysis of the bill, the President has thoroughly studied the factors that can lead to a strong economy. Presented five months ago, on October 3rd, 2024, the bill aims to introduce a new tax system that will increase national revenue.

“The bill is focused on improving the institutions responsible for tax collection, making them more efficient, accountable, and transparent. Nigerians will be able to see that taxes are being wisely utilized. I believe President Tinubu is on the right track.”
