Simi: NAPTIP Launches Investigation Into Sh*cking Lagos Day-Care Abuse Allegations

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has initiated a comprehensive investigation into allegations of child molestation and abuse at a daycare facility in Lagos.

According to Ireporter Online, the development follows the re-emergence of social media posts allegedly associated with popular singer Simisola Kosoko, widely known as Simi, which reignited public debate and concern over child safety in daycare environments.

In a statement issued on Friday, the agency’s Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, ordered operatives to commence an immediate and full-scale probe into the matter. She stressed that safeguarding children remains a foremost priority for the agency and assured the public that every necessary step would be taken to ascertain the facts.

The agency acknowledged the widespread concern expressed by Nigerians and disclosed that all its communication channels remain open to receive complaints or information from individuals who may have experienced abuse or possess relevant details concerning the daycare in question. It further urged members of the public to come forward with credible information to support ongoing investigations.

In a related development, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) reportedly referred the matter to the Commissioner of Police for preliminary inquiry, underscoring the seriousness of the allegations.

The renewed scrutiny stems from a surge of social media activity after screenshots of tweets dated 2012 and 2013, purportedly authored by Simi, resurfaced online. The singer has since addressed the controversy, maintaining that the posts were taken out of context and were unrelated to any form of misconduct.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to a thorough and impartial investigation as public attention remains fixed on the unfolding developments.
