In a statement issued on Tuesday by Imam Haroun Muhammad Eze, the Deputy National Legal Adviser of NSCIA, the Council clarified that the rumors were false, baseless, and malicious. The Sultan, who is at the forefront of leading Muslims of all ethnic groups in Nigeria, has been out of the country for the past two weeks, making the allegations even more unfounded.

The NSCIA expressed disbelief that such an esteemed leader could be associated with such a statement, emphasizing that the rumors were part of a larger malicious agenda. While the Council typically does not respond to such misinformation, it deemed it necessary to correct the record for the benefit of the public, urging Nigerians to disregard the claims and always verify information before sharing.
