They Wanted Blood’: J. Cole’s Startling Confession On Dodging Kendrick Lamar DramaAmerican rapper J. Cole has shared why he decided to withdraw a diss track aimed at fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

According to DAILY POST, J. Cole initially responded to Lamar’s jab on the song “7 Minute Drill,” where he accused Lamar of having “fallen off like the Simpsons.” Lamar had previously taken shots at Cole and Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s track, “Like That.”

However, during his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, J. Cole paused his set to apologize to Lamar.

In his latest single, Port Antonio, Cole explained his decision, revealing that those pushing the feud were seeking to profit from the controversy, wanting “blood” and publicity.

Cole rapped: “I pulled the plug because I saw where that was about to go. They wanted blood, they wanted clicks to make their pockets grow. They see the fire in my pen and think I’m dogging smoke. I wouldn’t have lost the battle, dog, I would’ve lost a bro, I would’ve gained a foe, and all for what?”
