Tinubu Government Launches Nationwide Agric Revolution, Opens Free RHAMP Application Portal
According to Ireporter Online, the Federal Government has officially commenced the application process for the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (RHAMP), a nationwide initiative designed to revolutionise Nigeria’s agricultural landscape through extensive mechanisation and the empowerment of youth and women agripreneurs.
The programme, spearheaded by the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) in collaboration with Heifer Nigeria, is a core component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s drive to modernise farming practices, enhance food security, and minimise reliance on traditional manual labour.
The Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, confirmed on Thursday, November 6, 2025, that applications are now open and completely free. Interested Nigerians are encouraged to apply via the official portal — https://boanig.com — before the deadline on November 10, 2025.
The BOA disclosed that RHAMP is structured to establish a new class of mechanisation service providers nationwide, with particular attention to women and youths who face challenges in accessing finance for agricultural equipment. Mechanisation firms aiming to expand their operations are also eligible to apply.
Through RHAMP, participants will gain access to tractors and farm implements under a flexible leasing arrangement that includes a three-year maintenance plan at approved workshops or mobile hubs. Repayments will be performance-based, allowing beneficiaries to offset costs gradually from their operational income.
To ensure efficiency and sustainability, the programme incorporates digital monitoring through Internet of Things (IoT) technology, enabling real-time tracking of equipment usage and maintenance.
Officials emphasised that the scheme is a strategic step toward transforming Nigeria’s agricultural ecosystem, improving productivity, and uplifting rural livelihoods. It aligns with the Tinubu administration’s broader mission to boost local food production and reduce costs for small and medium-scale farmers.
The initiative also aims to equip operators directly with modern tools, while creating new opportunities for agribusiness and rural enterprise development across the federation.
In June 2025, President Tinubu inaugurated the first phase of RHAMP, which included the rollout of 2,000 modern tractors, 50 industrial-grade bulldozers, 12 mobile workshops, and over 8,000 specialised farming implements.
At the launch, President Tinubu described RHAMP as a “bold stride toward agricultural sustainability,” reaffirming his administration’s commitment to food sufficiency and national productivity. “Today, we take a monumental leap forward with the introduction of state-of-the-art tractors through our new agricultural mechanisation programme. We are very proud of what we are doing,” he said.
With applications now open, the Federal Government has called on women, youths, and mechanisation companies to seize the opportunity. The Bank of Agriculture reiterated that the initiative is not merely about distributing tractors, but about building a network of skilled and financially supported service providers capable of unlocking Nigeria’s full agricultural potential.
Government officials expressed confidence that RHAMP would bolster food security, generate employment, and reinforce the goals of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
