Tonto Dikeh Explains Why She Ran From God’s Call

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has revealed that she nearly became a pastor at the age of 19 before stepping away from the path of ministry.

The actress made the disclosure during a recent live interview, where she spoke candidly about her spiritual journey and early awareness of a divine calling. She explained that she recognised her spiritual inclination from a young age but chose to run from it, believing that God wanted her to first experience life before fully embracing the assignment.

Dikeh noted that she remained actively involved in church after completing secondary school and maintained a strong personal connection with God. She described the many challenges and struggles she encountered over the years as part of a divine process designed to prepare her for a higher purpose.

According to her, several individuals who faced similar trials did not survive them, leading her to believe that her preservation was tied to a specific work God intended her to accomplish. She disclosed that her calling is centred on prayer and healing, adding that she may soon launch an online prayer platform if she receives clear spiritual direction.

The actress further stated that her renewed commitment to faith is not driven by financial gain, fame, or a desire to rebrand her public image. She emphasised that she already enjoyed material comfort but chose to return to God out of a desire to live fully and fulfil what she believes is her life’s assignment.

Dikeh stressed that her spiritual journey is rooted in obedience and survival rather than profit, noting that she has no intention of commercialising her faith. She also reflected on her past struggles with anger, smoking, alcohol, and other personal battles, which she said she overcame through prayer and reliance on God.
