Tony Ezekiel Mourns The Death Of Oba Adeyemi III, Sends His Condolences To The People And Govt Of Oyo

Following the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, Mr Tony Ezekiel a frontline PDP senatorial aspirant for Edo North Federal Constituency, has extended condolences to the people and government of Oyo State.

The Senatorial hopeful hailed the Alaafin of Oyo’s 52-year reign in a statement released to the press Saturday evening, describing it as “excellent” in many aspects.

He praised the Alaafin’s enthusiasm for human development and his remarkable contribution to nation-building, noting that enormous transformation occurred during the reign of Oba Adeyemi III while still safeguarding the Yoruba culture and tradition.

He lamented his death as a “great loss” to Nigeria and the Yoruba people.

“The news of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, joining his forefathers came as a shock to us. He was a magnificent Oba who restored honour to the throne left to him by his forefathers.

He was a symbol of the Oyo Race and an embodiment of the culture of the Oyo Clan.

This is a significant loss not only for the Royal Family but also for Nigeria and the Yoruba people as a whole.”
