WATCH: Newly Elected LG Chairman Ditches Wike’s Name From Council Building—What Happens Next Will Shock YouThe newly elected Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has officially removed the name of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from the administrative block of the council secretariat.

Ihunwo and 22 other local government area chairpersons, who were elected in the recent Rivers local council election, were sworn in by State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The Action Peoples Party emerged victorious, winning 22 council seats, while the Action Alliance secured one. However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) raised concerns about the election process.

In a post on X, Ihunwo announced that Wike’s name, which had been prominently displayed on the administrative building, has now been replaced with that of the late Obi Wali, a former politician and activist from the state.

The local government chairman also shared a video documenting the moment Wike’s name was removed and Wali’s name was installed. He stated, “We have changed Wike’s name in the admin block of Obio/Akpor Council and replaced it with the name of SENATOR DR. OBI WALI.”
