Alhaji Lawani’s remarks came during a campaign visit by the APC’s Governorship Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, to Owan East. He forthrightly informed the candidates that the party has a proprietary right to the region’s votes, given its enduring and widespread acceptance. Lawani expressed confidence in the APC’s victory in Owan East, stressing the need for other Local Government Areas to join forces and strategize to build on the party’s momentum.
