“He said it was a waste of time and money.”

Mr Lawal made the remark while assessing Mr Tinubu’s chances in the upcoming presidential election in February.

He believes the APC candidate has no chance of winning the election.

Mr Lawal has endorsed Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, despite remaining an APC member.

He parted ways with Mr Tinubu after the latter named a Muslim as his running mate for the 2023 elections.

Mr Lawal and other APC members had argued for the appointment of a Northern Christian to balance the ticket.
