Who Tinubu Has Been Asked To Appoint As Defence Minister (PROFILE AND PHOTO)

Ben Lion Heart Vanguard, an NGO, has called on President Bola Tinubu to appoint Abdulrahman Dambazau, a former Chief of Army Staff, as the Minister of Defence.

In a statement released on Monday, Ben William, a retired Air Force officer and coordinator of the NGO, expressed confidence in Dambazau’s ability to serve as Defence Minister due to his military background.

William pointed out that Dambazau’s past positions in public office serve as references for strong and exemplary leadership. He highlighted the establishment of a situation room by the former Minister of Interior, which coordinated the activities of various security and public safety agencies to ensure a seamless response to emergencies.

Furthermore, William mentioned Dambazau’s leadership in the US-Nigeria Security Sector Initiatives, which aimed to reform the security sector in response to emergencies, defence procurements, and operations in the northeast region.

Dambazau also proposed the establishment of an institute of domestic security to provide strategic training for senior officers in security agencies. According to William, Dambazau emphasized the importance of national security as a critical factor for national development. He even suggested the production of passports within Nigeria to make them more affordable for Nigerians and protect the country’s database.

Based on these accomplishments, Ben Lion Heart Vanguard believes that Abdulrahman Dambazau is a suitable candidate for the position of Minister of Defence, considering his extensive experience and contributions to national security.
