JUST IN: Gunmen Attack CUPP Spokesman’s Home In Imo, Kill Three (PHOTOS)

Three people were reportedly killed in an attack on Saturday on the country home of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) spokesman Ikenga Ugochinyere-Imo in Umukegwu community, Akokwa, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo state.

According to sources, the gunmen stormed Ugochinyere-house, Imo’s where he was meeting with some of his supporters, and began shooting indiscriminately as people fled for safety.

Three people were killed in the process, including the CUPP’s spokesman’s uncle, simply known as Dan. Some vehicles and campaign materials were also set ablaze on the premises.

Mike Abattam, spokesman for the Imo State Police Command, told Channels Television that he is aware of the incident but does not yet have official details or a report.

He added that a proper briefing from the divisional police officer in the area is expected.

Ugochinyere-Imo is also the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ideato North and South Federal constituencies in the upcoming 2023 elections.
