[BREAKING] 2023: In This Election That We Just Did, Obi Is ……. – Wike Makes Big Revelation On Presidential Election

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has named Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) as the hero of the recent presidential election.

Wike, speaking at a town hall meeting with Igbo traders in Port Harcourt, the state capital, said that even though Obi was not declared the winner, his participation in the election ensured the election of a southerner as President-elect.

According to the governor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have won the states where Obi recorded victories, retaining power in the North.

“In this election that we just did,” he said, “Obi is my hero, as far as I’m concerned. If he didn’t contest, power would have remained in the North.”

Wike urged traders to disregard detectors’ comments and vote for the PDP in the March 18 governorship and state assembly elections.

The governor also denied working against Obi’s presidential bid.

Others in attendance included Sim Fubara, the PDP’s governorship candidate in the state, and Dan Orbih, the PDP’s South-South Vice Chairman.

He told the traders he came to the market because he had heard they were upset with him for allegedly working against Obi during the presidential election.

Wike explained that when he and the other G5 governors advocated for a southern presidency, he saw no reason to work against the former Anambra governor.

The Rivers governor stated that he was bound by his agreement with the other disgruntled governors, which is why he did not openly endorse a presidential candidate, adding that it was critical to have a united region following the election.
