JUST IN: FG Names New Head For NAMA (PHOTO)

The Federal Government yesterday announced Tayib Odunowo as Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

Until this appointment, Odunowo was Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

He replaces Mathew Pwajok, who was Acting Managing Director of NAMA for over one year.

Pwajok will now serve as Director of Operations in the agency.

But experts in the industry have faulted Odunowo’s, saying the government should have confirmed Pwajok’s appointment or picked another director to run NAMA’s affairs.

“This deliberate attempt to muster the NASRDA under a ministry when the Minister is about to leave, only creates organisational confusion for the incoming administration. The ART is of the view that the aviation ministry is already under stress with the existing workload and the departure of capable hands, that it is not equipped to handle the additional function of Space Research and Administration…”
