Excuses Unlimited: Edo Residents Heap Shame On Obaseki As Governor Erects Large Billboard Apologizing to Citizens

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has faced significant backlash from citizens due to a recent twist of events. The Edo State government’s attempt at a clever tactic appears to have backfired, causing public outrage.

The cause of this discontent is a large signboard placed on Federal Highways, which was intended to offer an apology for the poor state of the roads, attributing the condition to them being federal government roads.

The billboard, strategically placed on Federal Highways, carried an apology for the deplorable state of the roads, shifting the blame to the federal government. However, instead of eliciting sympathy, it has become a target of outrage and discontent.

Edo residents have voiced their frustration, calling out Governor Obaseki’s alleged hypocrisy and accusing him of trying to dodge responsibility. They argue that while the governor is quick to apologize for federal roads, he conveniently ignores the abysmal state of internal roads within the state.

“We are not fools! Erecting a billboard to apologize for bad federal roads is an insult to our intelligence. What about the terrible internal roads that we endure every day?” exclaimed one frustrated Edo resident. “Governor Obaseki should stop playing politics and fix our local roads first!”

Another citizen labeled Governor Obaseki as the “Man of Unlimited Excuses,” highlighting the frustration with his perceived lack of action and his tendency to pass the buck instead of addressing the pressing issues faced by the state.

The mounting discontent is not without reason, as Edo residents argue that with just about a year left in his tenure, Governor Obaseki should be prioritizing solutions over excuses. They demand tangible results and improvements to the state’s infrastructure, rather than empty apologies that seem to be mere attempts at deflecting blame.

“Enough is enough! We are tired of Obaseki’s excuses and empty promises,” declared an angry resident. “Instead of taking responsibility and tackling the real issues, he chooses to blame others. Edo deserves better; we need results, not these meaningless apologies.”

As the backlash intensifies, Governor Obaseki finds himself on the hot seat, facing a growing chorus of demands for accountability and genuine progress.

The people of Edo are not willing to be swayed by witty billboards or slick political maneuvers. They yearn for substantive change, and they hope their voices will be heard loud and clear. The governor’s response to this criticism will undoubtedly shape the public’s perception of his leadership as his term winds down.
