“The resolution we’ve collectively reached today—hopefully for immediate implementation—is an ECOWAS decision.”

The Ivorian president highlighted that all the leaders of the West African regional alliance have made genuine attempts to engage in dialogue with the coup leaders in Niger.

“From my perspective, I view this as an act of terrorism, and it’s imperative that we don’t allow this to persist. We must take action. The stance of Côte d’Ivoire, which has garnered unanimous support from all the heads of state, and which we have effectively communicated to these coup leaders, is that their rightful place is within the confines of the military barracks,” he further asserted.
