Fresh Revelation On Akeredolu Causes Panic In Ondo
There is a noticeable undercurrent of unease among certain members of the Ondo State Executive Council as the return of Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to the state looms after his extended medical treatment abroad.
According to reliable sources, Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been engaging with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an effort to seek forgiveness from Akeredolu for his actions during the governor’s absence.
Allegedly, while the governor was receiving medical care in Germany, Aiyedatiwa was involved in a plot to pressure the governor into resigning due to health reasons.

An insider from the Executive Council revealed that Aiyedatiwa and his supporters have been restless since images and videos surfaced online showing the governor on the path of recovery. The source explained that the acting governor, Gbenga Ale, along with Chief of Staff to the Governor, assured some council members that the governor wouldn’t return.
Some council members aligned with Aiyedatiwa reportedly believed that the governor might not return alive or would resign, potentially allowing the deputy governor to take over. This group allegedly received promises of various positions and lucrative ministries.
As per the scheme, Chief of Staff Ale was pledged the role of Secretary to the State Government, while Commissioner Rasaq Obe was said to be promised the position of deputy governor to Aiyedatiwa.

Confusion has arisen among Aiyedatiwa and his supporters following the release of images and videos showing the recovering governor, shared by Governor’s Wife Betty Akeredolu and Majority Leader of the House of Assembly Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi.
Reliable sources suggest that Aiyedatiwa met with former National Secretary of the APC Iyiola Omisore, former Southwest Chairman of the party Chief Pius Akinyelure, and former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi.
These meetings reportedly took place separately in Abuja, where Aiyedatiwa sought to secure their support in convincing the governor to overlook his actions.
An anonymous source within the government noted that Aiyedatiwa had displayed excessive confidence in believing that the governor would not return due to misinformation he received regarding the governor’s health. The source shared that Aiyedatiwa even held meetings to plan for a scenario where he would become the acting governor.
Furthermore, a group called “Ondo Youths for Accountability” has raised concerns over the alleged allocation and expenditure of N200 million for the recently held Ondo Summit.
The group’s coordinator, Taiwo Hassan, claimed that Permanent Secretaries of various ministries were coerced into paying N1.2 million each for their respective ministries to send three delegates to the event. Additionally, local governments were supposedly obligated to pay N1 million each to attend the summit.
